Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed misogynist, and his brother Tristan have apparently been apprehended and detained by Romanian officials.
According to Romanian media, officials arrested and detained controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan at their vacation house in Romania.
According to the Romanian news outlet Libertatea, the raid was carried out in connection with the kidnapping of two girls. The two British males have been imprisoned for 24 hours while they are probed for rape and human trafficking.
The former kickboxer and self-proclaimed misogynist is being investigated by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism on suspicion of forming a criminal organization that used girls in adult videos.
A spat with Greta Thunberg may have resulted in arrest
Tate’s arrest comes just one day after he was roasted by adolescent activist Greta Thunberg, and his attempt to retaliate may have led police to his home. He posted a video outburst on Twitter, and a pizza box from a local company could be seen in the foreground, indicating to authorities that he was in the country.
